April 21st brought about a beautiful sunny day in Bristol, perfect for the annual Spring Ting Festival organised by Bristol University’s Jazz Funk Soul Society.
Held in the vibrant Stokes Croft area, the event has been running for a number of years to showcase some of the local musical talent and raise funds for charity at the same time.
The team work for months to prepare for the day, organising the different acts, promoting the event throughout the city and arranging prizes for the raffle. This year See Change were chosen as the beneficiary of the event, to support our homeless prevention projects in Bristol.
See Change volunteer Chloe has pioneered our cause since first helping at an event late last year, and as part of the team who put on Spring Ting she thought of no one else when suggesting a charity to support.
Spring Ting 2018 was a fantastic success, with several hundred people enjoying the music and food throughout the day. The raffle also proved popular, with prizes on offer of festival tickets, rehearsal room space for local bands, museum entry and much more! All of this ensured that the team exceeded last year’s donations and raised a huge £1100!
Well done to all involved in the event, from the Jazz Funk Soul team members to all those who attended. If you would like to organise your own fundraising event, you can find out more here
